LA LA LA

LA LA LA is the acronym we use for our daily reading en français.  Each day, students will be reading in French for 10 minutes either independently (lecture autonomne), with a partner (lecture avec partenaire), or with a teacher (lecture avec prof).  Students will rotate through each type of reading daily.
Below is a picture of our kiddos practicing reading aloud with a partner.

A reminder that picture day is this Thursday, September 21st.

First note night...

In case this information didn't make it home:

Parents are welcome, but not required, to stay for this event.

Here's what we've been up to the past couple of days...

In ELA, we are working on our "Where did your summer shoes take you?" project. It looks like our class had an amazing break, and I can wait to hear all about it when we present!
Our goal is to have this project completed for Monday, September 18th, but we are going to revisit the due date on Friday to ensure that this still works for us.
In sciences humaines, we are working on creating a timeline of our lives.  We've developed some required criteria as a class and are well on our way.  The kiddos may need some help from their fam jams to remember important events from when they were still littles.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Today, in FLA, we worked together to explore how our personal beliefs align with one of our school beliefs: respect.  Tomorrow, we will combine all of our thinking, in order to create our classroom belief statement about respect through a shared write.  We will continue this process throughout the week. Each day, we will address one of the remaining school beliefs: excellence, integrity, and responsibility.

In ELA, we began our very first project!  After reading a picture book and looking at an exemplar, our class came up with a list of criteria for what we should be sharing in our "Where did your summer shoes take you?" project.  Stay tuned for our list, our criteria for success, our learning goals and of course, our projects!

6F5 absolutely CRUSHED the first day of school!  Every teacher that walked into our learning space could not stop gushing about how incredible this group was!  I'm am SO excited for the year and it's safe to say that my first day jitters were completely unnecessary.  I hope you all have a great weekend and I can't wait to see you all on Monday morning.

Bonjour et Bienvenue!

Welcome to Ness Middle School and to room 205's classroom blog.  I am SO excited to start this exciting year of learning with the kiddos of 6F4 and 6F5 in partnership with their families and support systems.
We will be using the blog as a way of sharing and celebrating our learning as well as posting upcoming due dates for assignments.  My goal is to update the blog daily (but sometimes it ends up being weekly), so please visit often!
